I was drafting what I wanted my appearance of my website to be. here I've gone for a more clean and plain look, I thought this would work well for the Conde Nast element of our brief. I am thinking of doing more interactive and colourful elements to fit the 16 - 25 audience better.

in addition, I decided to make a logo for the brand. I thought this would help me add brand identity throughout all elements of my NEA. I used the same font as my masthead on my magazine to help emphasise this.

Magazine Cover Inso and what Im using

 I was taking some inspiration from "The Rolling Stone" magazine. although it's not Conde Nast, I think the inclusion of some elements of it will appeal to the younger audience of 16-25.

What I would take from this cover: 

I like the use of the name and then a slogan to go with it

I really liked the layout of text, with the name down in the corner instead of in the middle that's more typical 

the puff in the top corner I really liked aswell

the outline around the cover is nice to frame

I like the use of the top of the page for a cover line to separate they key stories

Drafting Front Cover

 

I started with this draft front cover. 

I had used photoshop to brighten up the photo and used a script font for her name to make it seem like her professional signature 

I later changed this to a font like the one from the law series "suits" 

Past Student Ever Inspo - general research

 

I liked the stylisation of this and found it was effective 

I found this cool and trendy with intertextuality to 90s hiphop fashion

I thought this looked quite realistic and high quality

Keep attention - especially with a younger audience who will reach for magazines far less. 

Easily digestable and helpful information that is easily applicable to their life

• Experiential elements (events, collaborations, reader engagement).

16–25-year-olds from a middle-up market background who are style focused:

Social Media Focused – Instagram is a platform, where they curate their personal brand through fashion, music, and location choices. Stories and posts are carefully planned, often featuring trendy London spots. TikTok and Pinterest also influence their aesthetic choices.

Style & Fashion – They are trend-aware but individualistic, blending designer, high-street, and vintage/thrifted fashion. With a focus on statement pieces and carefully styled accessories.

Cultural Interests – Music plays a big role in their identity, and they are drawn to fashion, art, and underground music scenes. They frequent aesthetic locations in London (Shoreditch, Soho, Southbank, Notting Hill) and are part of the coffee culture, rooftop bar, and creative space scene.

Mindset & Aspirations – They are aspirational but relatable, valuing authenticity and creative expression. Many have side projects like content creation, small fashion brands, or music blogging. They are also sustainability-conscious, with a growing interest in ethical fashion and second-hand shopping.

Brief:

 Concept: 

Giving teens and young adults from fairly wealthy backgrounds inspiration for how to look and act stylish in stylish places

• - Mixing music with style 

• - How we connect albums to style 

• - Will include lots of intertextuality (feed into the pride of music and style - viewers will enjoy understanding the intertextuality of the covers and spreads)

Target audience: a primarily 16-25 year old middle up market audience pf style conscious people 

theme: pop ballad 

For this theme I'm going to use a pop ballad and incorporate some of the common themes in pop ballads such as a love story.

Music Video Inspirations:

Innitialally,  I'm drawn to the early 2010s love song type of music videos - especially beacause of my song choices. 

If I were to use baby come back id want to centre the videos around a car driving around (a lot of inspiration coming from a TikTok trend with this song) that will go into how someone is driving around aimlessly because they broke up with someone and want them back.

If I were to se Sunday morning which im leaning towards more, I have a vision of a girl in her house alone waiting around, and it cutting back and forth to a boy in a separate house leaving to get in his car and drive to her. and the girl deciding to go see him but he's already at the door. like a mini romantic film that's very simple and easy to follow.
