Intertextuality

The article about Live 25 references 1990s Brit-pop culture.

I've created clear associations through fashion. I've dressed my model in a baggy Adidas top that is a key element of 90s fashion.

I've also  used a 90s style font for the title of the article.

This draws on nostalgic fashion trends and suggests the cyclical nature of fashion trends, all of this appealing to the older and younger audiences.

On both front covers I've added a border of the correlating colour around the edge. This is a intertextual reference to Rolling Stone Magazine. This is an example.

Here, I've used a font for the name "Ella Lewis" that looks like the font from popular Netflix show "Suits"/ This show is about lawyers and would be recognisable to a 16-25 year old audience.

The use of this will signify to my audience who this model is and the

Website: Footer Design

I updated my footer, and I decided to emulate the Vogue footer to ensure my website maintained a high end conde nast feel

Website: Articles Introducing Cover Stars

I andes the articules that introduce the two main people on my covers. Ive used photos that i think represent the stories they tell in the article and show a different side of the representation in the covers, while still keeping in with the themes

Website: Opening Page Update

I updated my opening page to this. I decided to dad all the photos from the Photoshoots i didn’t end up using for my front cover. I did this to dad some interest to the page and aesthetic elements, but also because i found that most Vogue magazines will have an element that shows the different photos that they had as options for the front cover, and thought this feature was reminiscent of that.

Adverts on Website

To increase the verisimilitude of my website I thought id add in adverts. I thought this would also help to demonstrate audience specific aspects as the adverts I add will be specific to the audience profile I have.

I decided to replicate the style in which adverts are commonly displayed in magazine websites

this is the advert I added. it is for a jewellery brand that does interesting and unique jewellery for a fairly reasonable price that was be achievable for 16-25 year olds but also appeal to the type f audience my magazine is for.

Website Layout Improvements

I looked at the Vogue website to replicate certain aspects to increase the verisimilitude of my wesbsite.

I liked this-art of the website, as the format I think was effective as it means viewers can see short summaries of articles and pick whichever one they like the look of

Here is where I did a similar thing. I altered it slightly and added my front covers on the left hand side. I did this as a way to add links between the covers and the website

Website: article additions

Today, i took inspiration from the vogue website. I really liked the article headlines and the soundbites used to give readers an overview without having to read the entire thing. With this being said, still inviting people to read on to find more detail. I thought this element was really good for audience captivating as it works for those who are too busy and just want a brief rundown on the recent stories, and also those who are browsing finding the article that interests them the most. I thought each element would apply to the lower sixteen year old age range and the higher twenty-five year old age range respectively. I think this makes it look authentic and also helpful for audiences.

website: playlist element

Ive added to my website today.

I think the addition of interactive elements will be beneficial

I used the 'reach out' pun to make all elements cohesive. I think this in particular would go down well with the younger audience

Website Drafts

I was drafting what I wanted my appearance of my website to be. here I've gone for a more clean and plain look, I thought this would work well for the Conde Nast element of our brief. I am thinking of doing more interactive and colourful elements to fit the 16 - 25 audience better.

in addition, I decided to make a logo for the brand. I thought this would help me add brand identity throughout all elements of my NEA. I used the same font as my masthead on my magazine to help emphasise this.

Magazine Cover Inso and what Im using

I was taking some inspiration from "The Rolling Stone" magazine. although it's not Conde Nast, I think the inclusion of some elements of it will appeal to the younger audience of 16-25.

What I would take from this cover:

I like the use of the name and then a slogan to go with it

I really liked the layout of text, with the name down in the corner instead of in the middle that's more typical

the puff in the top corner I really liked aswell

What I would take from this cover:

the outline around the cover is nice to frame

and again the use of a slogan

What I would take from this cover:

I like the use of the top of the page for a cover line to separate they key stories

again, I really like the slogan with the name
